5 Things You Will Need for the 2017 Philippine Readers and Writers Festival

The Philippine Readers and Writers Festival is back, and it’s bigger than ever. Three days of book signings, talks, workshops, and panel discussions – all for free!

But, it’s still something you have to prepare for. Here are 5 things you need to bring:

1. An umbrella

We may be right in the middle of the rainy season, but that shouldn’t stop us from celebrating our love for books, literature, and culture. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella to keep you dry!

2. A notebook

With over 40 events, this three day event is packed with new information and experiences. Jot down your favorite lessons or memorable quotes by the speakers in a handy notebook!

3. The books you want signed

Book signings will follow each event, so make sure you bring the books you want to have signed by them. Only books purchased from NBS, NBS Express, or Powerbooks will be accommodated.

In case you don’t have their books yet, you can always get them at the venue. Don’t miss out on the discussions and book signings of two international bestselling authors: Pierce Brown and Mark Z. Danielewski!

4. Your phone, camera, and power bank

Throwback to last year’s Festival!

There’s lots of memories waiting to be made at this year’s Festival. Feel free to take lots of photos, videos, and Boomerangs, too! Share them with us on social media – @nbsalert on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube – and use the official hashtag #GoReadWrite2017!

5. Your love for reading and writing

At its heart, the Philippine Readers and Writers Festival is about bringing together the people who love words – either using them to create stories and tales, or simply enjoying them be it in poetry or prose.

As a special treat, you’ll also enjoy 20% off on imported books! DTI-FTEB Permit No. 13211 Series of 2017
